FutureStar wins prestigious title

AEGON FutureStar Maia Lumsden has won the 12U Open Super title in Auray, France. The event is regarded as one of the top 12-and-under events on the tennis calendar, and past winners include many of today’s top players, such as Andy Murray, Kim Clijsters and Rafael Nadal.

Maia (11) earned straight-sets victories over her four opponents on the way to the final, where she continued the form and defeated Canadian Patricia Muamba 6-2, 6-2 to win the girls’ singles title.

In the coming weeks, the Glasgow youngster will start to compete in the 14-and-under events to continue to challenge herself as she looks to develop her career.
